About

Thanks very much for visiting Life Science Deal Flow.

There are countless quality news sources that focus on Big Pharma; Life Science Deal Flow focuses upon the – at times – overlooked pre-commercial entity and works diligently to bring you the latest on early-stage therapeutic, diagnostic and device companies – the news breaking, the funds raised, the investors participating, the technologies pursued, the trials designed, the data yielded, the regulatory pathway pursued and the products and indications approved.

Life Science Deal Flow is the personal blog of me, Adam Rubenstein. I am a bit of a Web 2.0 and technology junkie and when I launched the site in 2005 it was obvious that most people, sans perhaps my mother, would not be interested in reading about my personal-life ramblings but alas, as I pursued my passion of all aspects of development-stage biopharma and worked to track and catalog the content I accumulated it struck me that perhaps others might find the information useful and interesting, thus Colorado Life Science Deal Flow was born which subsequently evolved and branched into present day Life Science Deal Flow and OnBioVC.com, a venture capital database.

For those of you who may be interested in my background…I was taught biology by many however, a particular individual who I am eternally grateful to, who nurtured and challenged me, was Michael Klymkowsky, Ph.D. at the University Colorado, Boulder Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology where cell signaling and gene regulation was the order of the day.

There are many individuals who have had an amazingly positive impact on my development (and a few who have even picked me up, dusted me off and sent me back again on my way), too many to name here, but if you take a look at the acknowledgements page HERE you’ll find these special folks.

More recently I worked as an Associate for the fund High Country Venture and Tango, a private equity group; as a Senior Analyst on the finance team at ARCA biopharma (NASDAQ: ABIO); Co-Founder of the venture development and advisory group, Fitzsimons BioBusiness Partners; Founder of the competitive intelligence source OnBioVC; and, as a Consultant providing business development and finance services to a number of development and commercial-stage entities (some of which include: MycoLogics, PhosphoSolutions, BaroFold and SomaLogic). Earlier pursuits included stints with the investment banks Merrill Lynch (now Bank of America (NYSE: BAC)) and B.C. Zeigler & Co. (NASDAQ: ZGCO), now Envestnet Asset Management.

Your visit today to Life Science Deal Flow is truly appreciated.
